Groovy!

The Groovy Age of Horror has returned from vacation. Curt has named September as "Werewolf Month." In another of those strange synchronicities that occur frequently in the horror blogosphere, I watched The Howling tonight. Now I'm really looking forward to September.

Carnacki: Thanks for dropping by Fuzzy and Blue and for the great anti-spam tip. I hope it works... I have considered wolfbane or garlic... and I am looking foward to September, too. Every fall, my hubby and I (after we get our baby girl to sleep) build a fire in the fireplace, imbibe libations, and read a story from our vast horror/horror erotica/vampire/witch library collection. We've been married almost 6 yrs now and we look foward to it around Fall Equinox annually. I am especially fond of Poppy Z. Brite, and one of my all time favourites witch books is 100 Wicked Little Witch Stories edited by Stefan Dziemianowicz.
I look foward to visiting you again Carnacki... and are you a Ghost Finder al a Hodgson?

Howling is definitely on the menu, in both paperback and movie!

Speaking of synchronicity, I was JUST THAT VERY DAY bitching at work about how I don't like most movie werewolves because they're not furry enough. Weird!

The lack of fur is just part of the problem, IMO. Wes Craven did a lot of damage to the werewolf genre with Cursed by using so many horror movie cliches that he had already parodied in scream.
