Travel Channel

I don't watch enough television and didn't know the Travel Channel turned into the Haunted Channel. Last time I watched it, the Travel Channel was almost always showing a poker game.

Friday August 5 4pm-5pm America's Spookiest Places Unexplained activity and ghost folklore haunt the nation. Uncover the eeriest places, an empty lighthouse in St. Augustine, Florida, where children's laughter rings, to an abandoned prison in the Midwest where the spirits of inmates and wardens linger. 5pm-6pm Most Haunted Journeys Take a terrifying tour of stately home, cemeteries, inns, churches, and even a fishing trawler to scare up things that go bump in the night. Even the film crew had close encounters with visitors from the other side at these notoriously spooky haunts. 6pm-7pm World's Creepiest Destinations From a voodoo tour on a stormy night to the Lizzie Borden Bed & Breakfast to the Tower of London, visit the creepiest of destinations. Mystery surrounds destinations of intrigue and danger, from the ghosts of Gettysburg to UFOs. 7pm-8pm Weird Travels Mysteries of Route 66 Hitchhiker Resurrection Mary startles weary travels heading out of Chicago. A specter mourns the loss of her child in Santa Fe, the angry soul of a murderer haunts Holbrook, and ghosts continue their illegal business at Santa Monica's Georgian Hotel. 8pm-9pm Most Haunted A derelict castle in the heart of Wales was home to a famous opera singer and a WWII hospital. Ghostly whispers, doors opening and closing, strange noises, and footsteps spook the team as they investigate the upper floors. 9pm-10pm America's Most Haunted Places San Francisco The walking San Francisco Ghost Tour begins on the city's famous streets where visitors might see the ghost of the Nob Hill Bride. At the famous prison atop Alcatraz Island, three prisoners killed in 1946 still haunt the cellhouse.
Hat tip to Dan Jungles of the Will County Ghost Hunters Society.

Been watching a few of things. The Learning Channel also hosts some two hour haunted docs from time to time as well.

Also for those who don't know, the second season of Ghost Hunters has been airing on the sci-fi channel. I haven't caught a episode yet, however the second season seems promising.

Okay, I just watched the Rt. 66 episode of Weird Travels... blarg. Definitely flagged it as a 'thumbs down' in my TiVo. Now Weird U.S. shows some potential. It'll be interesting to see if they can keep its energy up; they were stretching things a bit thin on the episode I saw, but I'll definitely give it another look.
