Psychic investigation in Clear Spring, Maryland

From an email sent Friday by Susan Crites of the West Virginia Society of Ghost Hunters (reprinted with her kind permission):

A young couple contacted us recently about their home and the bizarre things that were happening there. Dark shadows darting through the kitchen, a lamp being thrown at the wife, strange soot appearing on the ceiling of the bathroom where no source of fire existed, a young child being pushed down the steep attic stairs, doors slamming when everyone was asleep, and, most alarming of all, the young wife finding herself sleep-walking toward steep, dangerous stairs at the back of the house when she had no history of sleep walking! The couple had evidence of their haunting; tape recordings of a garbled and menacing voice they captured while everyone in the house was asleep! This young family felt it was in danger and were frightened enough to leave the house whenever they could. It was obvious that they needed our help! The home is quite old; built before the Civil War. Bullet holes in the brick exterior are still clearly visible from the Civil War! Clear Spring, MD, is near the Potomac River. During the Civil War it was the scene of fighting in the streets dozens of times. Whole armies surged through the town and the people suffered all the usual and dreadful hardships of life in a war-zone! Some died from gunfire or at the hands of soldiers and others died of the horrible diseases that came in the wake of armies who knew nothing about sanitation; dysentery, cholera, typhoid. Many homes in Clear Spring are actively haunted! Our approach to a house with reported violent energy is to take our Psychic Team to quickly determine whether or not the house is truly haunted, identify the “hot spots” or concentrations of supernatural energy and, if possible, to make “Contact” with the entity or entities. It was obvious to the Psychic Team from the moment they stepped into the yard of this house that it was haunted. A dark, shadowy figure could be seen moving past a second floor window as we walked toward the house! The energy was thick and the temperature in the yard was 15 degrees higher than the parking area just a few feet behind us! The ghostly energy reacted as soon as we came into the house! The temperature in the dining room where we gathered to talk with the young couple began to rise. Within minutes, the temperature had risen nearly 20 degrees! No other room in the house was as hot. There was no heat source to explain the temperature rise! The Psychic Team investigated every room in the house then returned with amazing photos and experiences. These entities weren’t shy! They were visible and didn’t object to having their photos taken. As the Psychic Paranormal Investigators moved through the property, doors slammed in the attic, strange thumps could be heard on the side of the house, a dark shadow the size of a cat flitted through the living room, time and again. Several times we smelled smoke and sulphur wafting through the house. The photos are amazing; an orb exploding like fireworks on the foot of the parent’s bed, a clear face amid miasma in one room and a full-figure ghost in the mirror, complete with blue jacket and vest! At one point Cindy P. came into the dining room and reported to me that she had picked up the name Julie when she made psychic contact with one of the entities. Later, Robin B, who did not hear Cindy’s report, said that she got the name Julie when she made contact. All the psychics agreed that there was the ghost of a little girl in the house. There was also a very dark ghost in the house. Dawn O., Lisa S. and Cindy P. sensed that he was near a closet and made contact. They asked him to prove that he was there. Then, the door to the closet opened suddenly for all to see! Unbelievable and incredible! Then another door, about 20 feet away, closed itself and shot the dead bolt into place at the top of the door! There is more work to do in this house.
