The Essential Ghoul's Record Shelf

Subtitled "A song-by-song tour through pop music's unexpected[*] fascination with the ghastly and supernatural.", this blog lives up to its billing: a look at music that touches on, is inspired by, or otherwise relates to, well, the ghastly and supernatural. The blog seems to cover all genres of pop, as well as all genres of the fantastic. It looks to be quite the complete (if skewed) pop culture education. Its parent site, Dr. Mysterium Predicts! looks like it'll be worth a few clicks, too. * Personally, I'd quibble with 'unexpected'. The dark and mysterious has been a source of inspiration for music since, well, probably as long as humans have made music. I don't see why pop music would be immune from its charms (as it were) as well.
