Police search for killer of 'vampire'

Victorian police have re-issued an appeal for public help with their investigation into the murder of a male prostitute and self-described 'vampire' in Melbourne two years ago. Shane Chartres-Abbott, 29, was gunned down as he left his home in the northern Melbourne suburb of Reservoir with his father and girlfriend on June 4, 2003. Mr Chartres-Abbott was due to appear in court the day he was murdered. He was accused of leaving a woman lying unconscious in a South Yarra hotel room after raping her and biting off part of her tongue.
