Ghost Brothers of Darkland County

Now John Mellencamp is a rocker who's aging well. From The Kansas City Star:

Besides, Mellencamp has plenty on his plate to keep him busy, including “Ghost Brothers of Darkland County,” a musical he has co-written with Stephen King. Yes, a musical. With Broadway aspirations, even. But don’t expect any fancy pants chorus lines — it’s a typical Stephen King thriller. “We had our first read-through with actors in New York a few months ago,” Mellencamp said. “But the problem is, we’ll get some work done, and then I have to go back on tour. And Steve has to finish a book, and so on, so we decided we wanted to concentrate on this, really make it our job and finalize it.” Mellencamp said he hopes to open the production in Chicago first and, if successful, move it to Broadway. But not before the big 20th anniversary Farm Aid show, scheduled for Sept. 18 in Chicago.
