Beware the Wolf Man

From The Ilford (U.K.) Recorder:

APPARENTLY based on true events, Wolf Creek (18) tells the chilling story of three backpackers travelling in remote outback Australia. When their vehicle breaks down they accept help from a friendly local. But it soon dawns on them that he has no intention of fixing their vehicle, or of them leaving - ever again. The film spends quite a lot of time introducing the audience to the characters so that when things go horribly wrong, it's difficult to watch the violence meted out to them. Already being billed as one of the most terrifying films of the year after its Sundance premiere, Wolf Creek is a modern day horror classic - the new Blair Witch Project. But the Australian Tourist Board will be worried. This is set to do for backpacking Down Under, what Jaws did for swimming in the sea.
