The Mystery of the Haunted Moth

Photos of a moth that just flew into my house. I photographed it before doing a capture and release. If it returns, this could begin a new tradition of Friday Moth Blogging since I forgot to put up the Friday Vampire Cat Blogging. (Wasn't in a frivolous mood).

I hate moths...that one is way too big to be real.

Are you sure it isn't just a small bird, lol.

I'm not an expert, but I think you have one of the Sphinx moths there - Tobacco Hornworm perhaps.

Unless it is a Tomato Hornworm, in which case you may want to look at any tomato plants you may be growing, for those large ugly green catapillers eating all the leaves.

baobhan sith, I thought it was a bat when I first saw it.

42, you may not be an expert, but you know your moths. I like the illusion of the smaller (and toxic) moth on its wings.
